Unfortunately, the south of Lebanon is now a warm front of the war in the Middle East, with daily attacks and explosions that kill, frighten and make the inhabitants of the border flee.

Agree with local municipalities, the Blue Tyre project has identified an emergency operating protocol, deciding to remain alongside the beneficiaries and local partners and still developing the activities in the safest ways.

Despite the extreme precariousness of the context, in fact, also for the 2024 season, our extraordinary local team consisting of Lebanese experts and volunteers formed in Puglia, manages to conduct the monitoring and protection campaign of the nesting of sea turtles at the Tyre, Mansouri and Abbasieh beaches. Our great applause goes to their courage and abnegation in the hope that soon the situation can return to normal.
