What is a healthy lifestyle? There is probably no single answer, but in this second part of the course in sport and children’s physical and mental wellbeing, UISP trainers Alessandro De Paolis and Irene Tola will seek to highlight the fundamental aspects of a correct and healthy lifestyle. The training course is addressed to 25 teachers serving “Ghassan Kanafani” Early Childhood Centers and is part of the action aimed at strengthening the social and educational services for minors in Palestinian refugee camps of Mar Elias, Bourj El Barajneh and Rashidieh in Lebanon. The project is implemented by CTM and co-funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The course aims to develop the ability of teachers to promote – among children and their families – a healthy lifestyle, harnessing the game as a tool to enhance movement and proper nutrition. UISP approach connects learning to movement, whereby the latter represents a motivation towards learning itself. Through movement, learning becomes an achievement!
Alessandro and Irene, together with GKCF teachers, are revisiting traditional games and experiencing fun activities that, if applied to their daily work, are able to stimulate good dietary practices in the child. The game represents as well a key strategy, being characterized by reciprocity between identity and difference: the game, indeed, teaches how to manage the essential components of the relationship with others, such as competitiveness, frustration, anxiety and respect for each other .
